‘PANTA CLAUS’ HELPS CHRISTMAS SOS CAMPAIGN
British Men are tightening their belts by not changing their pants in the recession.
Too tight to buy new smalls, they are relying on the Christmas tradition of receiving pants to replace their grotty undergarments.
And to make sure they avoid wrong sizes or silly styles, underwear giant Kiniki.com has launched a Save Our Smalls campaign to keep boys kitted out with keks this Christmas.
“Men can send their underwear wish lists to ‘Panta Claus’ – aka their wives and girlfriends,” says John Walker, founder of Kiniki.com. “They select their size and favourite styles from the Kiniki website and send out a cheeky wish list letting loved ones know exactly what they want.”
According to a recent Mintel report, men’s underwear sales will fall by 2.3 per cent this year, as men change their underwear less in a recession*.
“We’ve been selling pants for 30 years,” says Walker. “Men may be buying fewer pairs right now but that will change.
“What’s important is for men to get the pants they want this Christmas otherwise it’s a waste of money and they won’t be worn.”
